Miami, FL – Florida’s Senior United States Senator, Bill Nelson, officiated at the new term investiture of State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and her 300 plus prosecutors this past Friday, January 9, 2009, before a packed house.
Alan Dershowitz, author, Harvard Law School Professor and television personality, addressed the audience along with Roberto Martinez, former United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Other notables who took center stage alongside the State Attorney included Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, Aventura Chief of Police Steven Steinberg, Rabbi Solomon Schiff, Bishop Isaiah Williams, and Circuit Court Judge Leonard Glick. Channel 10’s Senior Political Reporter Michael Putney moderated the event.
“I feel exceptionally honored and proud to be embarking on a new term as Dade’s chief prosecutor,” commented State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. “I am also proud that so many of our crime fighting partners wanted to recognize the hard work that prosecutors do everyday in our community’s criminal courtrooms.”
