Miami, FL – Dadeland Mall, one of Miami’s leading shopping destinations, will welcome Tito Puente, Jr., popular entertainer and son of famed musician, to the seventh annual Dadeland Mall’s Evening of Giving.
Tito Puente, Jr. will perform live at this event featuring exclusive store discounts, family entertainment, delicious food sampling and more at Dadeland Mall on Sun., Nov. 23, 2008 from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
“Dadeland Mall’s Evening of Giving is a Miami tradition, which makes a significant contribution to our  community, while providing an exciting evening for all event attendees” said Ozzie Dominguez, General Manager of Dadeland Mall. “Dadeland Mall is proud to welcome entertainer, Tito Puente, Jr., to the evening mix as he reveres the magnificent, lasting impact his father had on our musical lives and continues to entertain crowds worldwide.”
Dadeland Mall’s Evening of Giving, which has raised more than $500,000 over the past seven years, is a shopping and entertainment event that raises funds for national, regional and local charities. Dadeland Mall will be reserved exclusively for shoppers who have purchased a $35 Evening of Giving ticket from a participating charity. A $75 VIP ticket can also be purchased and includes entrance into a special VIP area, an additional special performance and an opportunity to meet, greet and mingle with Tito Puente, Jr.
Participating charities for this year’s event are at a record high, with over 50 charities signed on to sell tickets and raise money for their cause. Confirmed charities for Dadeland Mall’s Evening of Giving will include A Safe Haven for Newborns Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, Miami Music Teachers Association, Best Buddies Miami, The Florida Breast Health Initiative, South Dade Chapter of Hadassah, Canine Assistants, Joshua’s Heart Foundation and more. Sponsors to date include Univision, Univision Radio and Imagen Magazine.

Tito Puente, Jr. is determined to nurture the musical legacy left by his father and refuses to let the passionate entertainment become a distant memory. Over the past few years, Tito, Jr. has found captive audiences who echo his passion. Crowds once lured to a venue by his father's magic have returned to enjoy the son, participating once again in the high voltage celebration that takes place on stage.
Tito Puente, Jr. has become a favorite entertainer in casinos, performing arts centers and jazz festivals nationwide. Tito, Jr. has appeared as a guest of the Dallas Symphony Pops, and will join the San Antonio Symphony for 3 concerts in their upcoming season.
In the spirit of giving back, Tito, Jr. has participated in 2 USO Tours during the past 18 months, visiting and performing for troops in Japan, Korea, Spain, and Italy. His appearances at fundraising events for causes including the Jerry Lewis MD Telethon and Toys for Tots help generate thousands of dollars annually.
