Mayor Manny Diaz to Address Democratic National Convention in Denver Miami, FL —City of Miami Mayor and The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) President Manny Diaz’s address to the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 7:00 pm, Eastern Time (5:00 pm, Mountain Time). His speech will be aired LIVE on C-SPAN and will also be broadcast online by CNN.
Mayor Diaz’s address will focus on an urban agenda based on recommendations made by the nation’s mayors. This action agenda will be presented to the next President of the United States during the critical first 100 days of the new administration.
Mayor Diaz is a registered Independent and has not endorsed either candidate. As the 66th President of the nation’s premiere bipartisan lobbying organization for the America’s cities and metropolitan areas, Diaz is the second Hispanic mayor and the first person from Florida in more than 40 years to lead The Conference of Mayors.
