KATHY SCRUGGS
This is an over taxed under paid society, in Florida anyway. And the government spends like it's water. When we voted for Amendment #1 it was to help the under paid people make ends meet, instead they got penalized by job cuts, salary cuts and loss of bonuses.

The ones really effected, in a negative way, are the Teachers, Firemen and Police Officers. You think the 'government' is trying to teach us a lesson?? The guys at the very top should come down a peg or two. We will watch what happens on Am. #5. Thanks for the update.

It's basically warning that, assuming the present taxation is inadequate for the budget and there is no pork in what we spend dollars for, there are some ways to gain dollars... one in which is to tax areas that are not taxed now... such as cleaning services and many, many other services.
Nothing is cut in stone and, I think, the state government can initiate many ways without a vote.

Also, A 1% sales tax is good and fair. I do not have children. Maybe you do. I don't want to pay for your children's education or anyone elses. The sales tax is fair. You also didn't mention, as you may not be aware, that taxing Internet sales is an option. That's fair too.

It's excellent that the legislature and the Florida State Supreme court are both being bypassed by the taxation and budget reform commission. Now we can contact our legislatures to do the right thing. Property tax relief is necessary and important to all of us in Florida. I vote yea for #5 and encourage you too as well.
