Hialeah Celebrates the 4th of July |

Hialeah, Florida – Despite the adverse weather conditions, the City of Hialeah celebrated the 4th of July with all the pomp and circumstance the holiday merits and went on with its planned “Freestyle Explosion” Concert at Milander Park, located at 4800 Palm Ave.

DJ Mikey Machete from “El Show de Enrique & Joe” on La Kalle 98.3 F.M. and 80’s freestyle icons Johnny O’, Erotic Exotic, The Voice in Fashion and Sequal did not disappoint the audience of about 3,000, who waited in the rain for nearly two hours.
Following the concert, Mayor Julio Robaina addressed the audience and expressed his gratitude towards the United States military personnel. “Today is a day for Americans to celebrate and reflect on the principles of democracy and freedom. We have to thank all the brave men and women who gave their lives for the freedom and security of our nation,” expressed Robaina as he dedicated the night’s festivities in honor of Hialeah’s most recent fallen soldiers, Navy Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Technician, Luis A. Souffront, and Army Specialist, Alfred H. Jairala.
By about 10:45 p.m., the rain had stopped, the lights were dimmed and a sea of red, blue and white glow sticks began to emerge through the crowd as South Florida’s biggest and brightest laser and fireworks show began.This event was made possible by generous sponsorship from the following businesses: Papa John’s, Coca Cola, Vista Health Plans & Summit Health Plans, Que Barato Stores, Navarro Discount Pharmacies, Comcast, Citibank, ClearChannel Outdoor, La Kalle 98.3, Miami Heat, Univision 23, Radio Mambi WQBA 1140 AM, Telefutura, Palm Springs Mile Associates, Hazen and Sawyer and 107.5 AMOR.
