13.05.2008

Miami, FL – With City of Miami officials present and a ceremonial tree perched at its pinnacle, the developers toasted the topping off of Marquis, the exclusive development of residences and a boutique hotel and spa operated by RockResorts.

Now 67 stories high at 1100 Biscayne Blvd., Marquis is the 2nd tallest building in Miami and one of the city’s most prominent projects. The morning event solidified that stature, with an official salute presented by Mayor Manny Diaz and District Commissioner Marc Sarnoff.

During a breakfast in the sales gallery project executives Martin Rozenblum, Hector Torres and Alan Krause addressed the crowd and thanked KM-Plaza Construction, the lenders, the city officials, the Miami Downtown Development Authority, and brokers and buyers in attendance for helping Marquis reach this milestone. They also introduced Marquis’ arts connection, highlighting the recent partnerships established with area arts organizations such as Miami Art Museum (MAM), as well as their contribution to the City of Miami’s Art in Public Places via artwork on the building façade.

The developers noted the two recent awards Marquis won from the Developers and Builders Alliance and announced the recent partnerships it has established with area arts organizations. And, in a show of community spirit, the event featured a silent auction with commemorative gift items from the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, MAM and other emerging artists, with all proceeds benefiting Papanicolaou Corps for Cancer Research at the University of Miami/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“We are witnessing an amazing time for this city, watching the rebirth of downtown,” said Rozenblum. “We are proud to blaze the trail of supporting Miami’s vision to become a world-class destination for arts and culture.”

In addition to its industry accolades, soaring height and striking architecture by Arquitectonica, Marquis is distinguished by the original artwork on display and the opportunities to engage in the rich arts and culture of Miami through unique partnerships. Marquis will house 306 ultra luxurious residences as well as a 56-key luxury boutique hotel operated by RockResorts. The hotel will feature a world-class signature spa and fitness center spanning 10,000 square feet on two levels as well as bars and restaurants, all open to residents of Marquis. Unparalleled services and amenities also include smart building technology and a view-commanding sky pool deck with a sunrise lap pool and lagoon-style sunset pool.

Accessed via the fastest private high-speed elevators in the southeast, each grand home is directly accessed and will be outfitted with gourmet kitchens featuring all Viking appliances, spacious master baths with Duravit and KWC fixtures, eight-foot deep private balconies and 10-foot ceilings. Prices range from the $1 million to over $15 million.

Located across from the American Airlines Arena, and five minutes from the beaches, shopping, and major hot spots, Marquis is set to become the “Crown Jewel” of Downtown Miami. Its location in Park West puts residents in the heart of a dynamic urban community home to well heeled professionals and frequented by the hip social set that parties after dark at the nightclub hotspots.

Marquis is on schedule with completion slated for spring 2009. The new sales center is located one block west of Marquis at 153 NE 11th St. For more information, visit www.marquismiami.com.
