The City of Hialeah, Mayor Julio Robaina and the Hialeah City Council invite all the members of the media to join us for the Second Annual Mayor's Gala, "­ Polynesian Sunset," presented by Vista HealthPlans. All proceeds from the event will be donated to two very special organizations, the American Cancer Society and La Liga Contra el Cáncer.

Last year, the event alone raised $85,000 in donations. This year, the Gala promises to be even bigger and better and will once again be aimed at helping the battle against cancer.

The day after the Mayor's Gala, the American Cancer Society will be holding Relevo Por La Vida de Hialeah, the Spanish initiative of Relay for Life. This is a local event, where members of the community form teams to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The City will present proceeds
from the Mayor's Gala at Relevo Por La Vida de Hialeah.

When:  Mayor's Gala: Friday, April 18, 2008, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.

Hialeah: Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 12 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
