Miami, Florida- City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, joined by Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Hands On Miami, DIRECTV, Microsoft, and community leaders and residents, will celebrate the makeover unveiling of Latinos United in Action Center located at 3321 NW 17 Avenue on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. 

The project is the first official event of the 49th Annual Meeting of the IDB, which will be held from April 4-8 in Miami. The makeover event is made up of public and private contributions towards catering to the needs of the community.

The newly renovated Latinos United in Action Center, located in Allapattah, provides free after school classes and programs to hundreds of neighborhood children and adults.  The makeover and unveiling celebration will be filmed as part of a television special to be broadcast exclusively on DIRECTV in the U.S., Latin American and the Caribbean in the Summer/Fall 2008.
