Calypso by Caribbean Debuts and Designer Model Residence Unveiled at Exclusive VIP Reception. Miami Beach, FL-- Christa/Bluerock, developer of the ultra luxury condominium Caribbean in Miami Beach.
Hosted a private cocktail reception for brokers, homeowners and VIPs at CASADECOR07 to celebrate milestones including the completion of the spectacular new model residence designed by Jorge Rosso-Ubarri and the condominium’s timely progress.
The evening’s highlight was the official unveiling of Calypso by Caribbean, a designer collection of supremely luxurious oceanfront residences, which have been released as the final phase of units for sale.
Over 200 guests stepped into the elegant and inspiring venue, which for the duration of CASADECOR was home to a global showcase of art. Once inside, they enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres and exclusive access to CASADECOR that night.

The evening also featured presentations by John Casey, president of Christa Development Corporation; Walter DeFortuna, chairman of Fortune International Realty; and Ileana Caballero who oversees the sales and marketing for Fortune International Realty. The new sales team was introduced as were the four renowned designers who have been hand selected by the developer to offer their consultation services to the units at Calypso by Caribbean.
“This evening was the perfect way to show our appreciation to those who have helped bring the project to where it is today,” said Casey. “CASADECOR converges high design and Miami’s rich flavor. It is a place that we feel mirrors the ambiance we are creating at Caribbean.”

Celebrating in its second year in Miami, CASADECOR’07 brought together more than 60 top international designers, architects, manufacturers and sponsors to redesign a 50,000 square foot, multi-level building on Biscayne Boulevard near the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. Since its inception in 1985 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the renowned CASADECOR has been transforming abandoned landmarks, municipal buildings, churches, and castles in Europe and Latin America into elegant, decorated showhouses where art enthusiasts experience new design trends.
“Calypso by Caribbean embodies the grace and elegance of this project,” added Caballero. “Unveiling it this evening at the world’s showcase for design was most appropriate. The designers we have collaborated with are among the best in the business and reflect our commitment to offering the creme de la crème here.”

The elite group of designers selected to offer complimentary services includes the aforementioned Jorge Rosso-Ubarri, principal of Studio Rosso-Ubarri, named Design Visionary” by Florida International magazine; Franziska Hinze, principal and interior designer of HiBo Design, a full-service design studio with multiple projects in Latin America, Europe, and South Florida; Scott Gershon of The Gershon Group, Inc., a commercial and residential interior design practice with high-profile projects around South Florida; and Cristina Souza, of Avant Design Group, a full-service design firm with commercial and hospitality projects in its portfolio.
The scope of design consultation work includes customized floor plan layouts; selection of fixtures, finishes, and equipment; selection of décor and accessories; and artwork and lighting consultation.
Caribbean currently is under construction at 3737 Collins Ave. on Miami Beach. The existing six-story North Tower (formerly an historic 1941 hotel) is being completely renovated. The new 19-story South Tower has topped off. The entire project will comprise 103 ultra luxury residences along with a 35,000 square-foot underground parking garage, unique to Miami Beach.
Christa/Bluerock is a partnership between New York-based Christa Development Corporation (CDC) and Bluerock Real Estate. Kobi Karp is the architect for the project. Christopher Ciccone is interior designer and creative consultant for the project at large. Caribbean’s on-site sales center is open seven days a week.
