Miami Beach, FL – Christa/Bluerock, developer of Caribbean, a luxury oceanfront condominium in Miami Beach, has announced that the South Tower’s new model unit is now open to the public for preview. The developers are kicking off the completion of the designer decorated residence with an Open House on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 pm.

The spectacular “A line” residence, which faces the ocean, was designed by Jorge Rosso-Ubarri, a renowned designer and principal of Coral Gables-based StudioROSSOUbarri. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath model spans more than 2,300 square feet with two large terraces, one a wraparound fronting the ocean.

Rosso-Ubarri opted for a natural motif, with blue, sandy and grey hues. He selected furnishings that were designed as “classic with a twist” in glass, stone, wood and metal as well as original artwork appeal to the more sophisticated traveler.   

“I was inspired by both the outdoors – the oceanfront location – and the history and evolution of Miami Beach,” explains Rosso-Ubarri. “The image of the city is that it was a go-to destination that was chic and luxurious. I am trying to capture that again here, with a modern infusion.”   

Rosso-Ubarri is one of the designers working with the developers to offer consultation services for residences in the Calypso by Caribbean collection. Buyers of any of the Calypso by Caribbean residences will tap into his expertise—or that of any of the other selected designers participating—but may personalize the space to their own liking.

Created to foster the most sumptuous lifestyle for residents and the ultimate private sanctuary on the ocean, Calypso by Caribbean is a collaboration of the developer and an elite group of designers. The scope of design consultation work offered with these oceanfront abodes includes selection of fixtures and finishes; selection of décor and furnishings; and artwork and lighting consultation. 

Should the homeowner desire turnkey service, the designers can also offer assistance in selecting linens, silverware, window treatments and other accessories to create a complete look.  Calypso by Caribbean residences are priced from $1.3 million.

Caribbean is currently under construction at 3737 Collins Ave. The existing six-story North Tower (formerly an historic 1941 hotel) is being completely renovated. The new 19-story South Tower has topped off.  Completion of both buildings is on schedule for summer 2008. 

The entire project will comprise 103 ultra luxury residences along with a 35,000 square-foot underground parking garage, unique to Miami Beach. 

Christa/Bluerock is a partnership between New York-based Christa Development Corporation (CDC) and Bluerock Real Estate. Kobi Karp is the architect for the project.
